Golden Porridge

Ingredients:

Millet 100g,

Corn kernel 30g,

Pumpkin 30g,

Chinese dates 12pcs.




Cooking method:

1. Preparing: Peel and dice the pumpkin, wash the corn kernels, remove the core of dates, and wash the millet for later use;

2. Add a proper amount of water to the pot to boil, then add millet, boil again

3. Add the pumpkin, corn kernels and dates after boiling;

4. Boil the porridge on a high heat until the pumpkin is well cooked. Then simmer for 20 minutes until the porridge is soft.


Function:

"Five colours (of food/herb) benefit the five (corresponding) internal organs" in the theory of traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Yellow correspond with the Spleen. Golden porridge uses millet, corn, pumpkin, these ingredients are all yellow, add appropriate amount of Chinese dates to make porridge.

Millet and pumpkin nourish Qi. Corn harmonizes the Spleen and Stomach. Chinese date promotes and nourishes the Blood and Qi, reconciles the five internal organs.

All in together, the golden porridge can nourish the Spleen and Stomach, replenish Qi and dispel Dampness.


 

黃金粥


食材:

小米100克,玉米30克,南瓜30克,大棗12枚。


制法:

1.南瓜削皮切丁,玉米洗淨剝粒,紅棗去核、小米洗淨備用;

2.煮鍋加適量水燒開,加入小米;

3.煮沸後加切好的南瓜、玉米粒、紅棗;

4.大火將粥燒沸至南瓜熟透,轉小火煮20分鐘至粥軟爛即可。


功效:

按中醫理論“五色入五臟”:黃色入脾。黃金粥用小米、玉米、南瓜等黃色食物,加適量大棗熬粥。

小米補虛,最適合熬粥,澱粉經過糊化後,綿軟柔滑,本身就有健胃和中的作用。小米含有一般糧食所沒有的胡蘿蔔素,維生素B1含量居所有糧食之首,小米中調節睡眠的色氨酸含量也是穀類之最,故又有“安神粥”之稱,對於氣血不足的老人,小米不但可滋陰補血,還可調節大便。

玉米調和脾胃,南瓜補中益氣,大棗補血養氣、調和五臟。這款粥不但有調和五臟,健脾胃、益氣血的功效,而且也是一款營養價值非常高的的滋補品。不論是對孩子,還是對老人,病人,都很適用。
