English Name: Job’s Tears Seed, Coix Seed, Chinese Pearly Barley, Adlay/Adlay millet


Property:

Sweat, Bland;

Cool;

Spleen, Stomach, Lung meridian


Function:

Induce diuresis and expel Dampness; Strengthen Spleen and stop diarrhea; Treat arthralgia and reduce swelling; Clear Heat and drain pus.


Indication:

Traditionally used for edema, beriberi, fever, Difficulty in urination, diarrhea (due to Spleen deficiency), rheumatism arthralgia, spasm, pulmonary carbuncle, intestinal carbuncle, discharge problems etc.

Nowadays, it is also used for cancer, diabetes, flat warts, molluscum contagiosum, acne, etc.

YiYiRen is one of the more nutritious foods in coarse grains. At the same time, it has high medicinal value. It is also called "grain medicine". YiYiRen is sweet and bland in taste, and enters the Spleen meridian. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the herb with sweet taste has a tonic effect, and a bland taste has the effect of diuresis. YiYiRen can not only nourish the Spleen and promote the excretion of water, but also expel dampness and relieve arthralgia, relieve the spasm of tendons and muscles. It is one of the commonly used Chinese herbs for contracture, pain, and unfavorable flexion and extension. YiYiRen is more effective for those with obvious symptoms of local redness, swelling, heat and pain.

Studies have found that YiYiRen has sedative, analgesic, antipyretic, blood sugar and blood pressure regulation, muscle spasm relief, immune enhancement, breathing regulation, ovulation induction, and anti-cancer effects.


Dosage:

For decoction, 10-30 g.

For clearing heat and expel dampness, the unprocessed (Sheng YiYiRen) is better. While for nourish spleen and arresting diarrhea, the stir-baked (Chao YiYiRen) is better. Its function is mild, so the dosage should be large.


Caution:

Do NOT use long term during pregnancy.

Functions:

Clear heat and expel dampness, relax muscles and strengthen bones.

It can be used to treat Damp-Heat syndromes.

It can be used for rheumatoid arthritis, gouty arthritis with symptoms of redness and swelling of feet and knees, and muscle pain, etc.

Studies show that this formula has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, analgesic, inhibition of skeletal muscle contraction, and diuresis.

英文名:Coix seed


性味歸經:味甘、淡,性涼,歸脾、胃、肺經。


功效: 利水滲濕,健脾止瀉,除痹消腫,清熱排膿


用途:

傳統上用於水腫,腳氣,發熱,小便不利,脾虛泄瀉,風濕痺痛,經脈拘攣,肺癰,腸癰,帶下等。

現代還用於癌症,糖尿病,扁平疣,傳染性軟疣,痤瘡等。

薏苡仁是粗糧中營養成分比較豐富的食品之一,同時還有很高的藥用價值,也被稱為“糧藥”。薏苡仁味甘、淡,主歸脾經。中醫認為味甘具有補益作用,味淡具有滲利水濕作用,所以薏苡仁既可補脾促進水濕的排泄,還可滲濕除痹,舒緩筋脈的拘攣,是治療風濕痹證,筋脈拘攣、疼痛、屈伸不利的常用中藥,對局部紅腫熱痛症狀明顯者,效果更佳。

現代研究發現,薏苡仁有鎮靜,鎮痛,解熱,調節血糖、血壓,緩解肌肉痙攣,增強免疫,調節呼吸,誘發排卵,抗癌等作用。


用法用量:

煎服。10~30g。“生瀉熟補”,清利濕熱宜生用,健脾止瀉宜炒用。本品力緩,用量宜大。除入湯劑、丸散外,亦可作粥食用,為食療佳品。

禁忌:孕婦慎用。


方 | 四妙丸

製法用量:

黃柏10克 蒼朮10克

川牛膝10 克 薏苡仁20克

水泛小丸,1次服10克,1日服3次,溫開水送下;亦可水煎2次分2次服,1日服2劑。


功效:

清熱利濕,舒筋壯骨。

治療濕熱下注,足膝紅腫,筋骨疼痛;風濕性關節炎、痛風性關節炎等見上述證候者可選用。


現代應用:

現代醫學認為本方抗菌,消炎,解熱,鎮痛,抑制骨骼肌的收縮,利尿。主要用於:風濕性關節炎、多發性神經炎、肌營養不良、重症肌無力、進行性肌萎縮、陰囊濕疹、尿道感染、黴菌性陰道炎、滴蟲性陰道炎、陰道炎、慢性宮頸炎、丹毒,見下肢痿軟乏力,麻木不仁,腫脹疼痛,舌苔黃膩者。


膳 |薏苡仁八宝粥

材料:

薏苡仁10克,红枣5枚,白扁豆10克,莲子肉10克,核桃仁10克,桂圆肉10克,糯米100克,红糖适量。

上述用料洗净一同放入砂锅,加适量清水,大火煮沸,小火熬煮成粥,调入红糖即成。


功效:

具有健脾开胃、益气养血的功效。适用于脾虚体质或脾胃虚弱、食纳不香、心烦失眠的人群食用。
